As a dynamic part of the Professional Writing Program, Journalism at UCSB supports students in learning and pursuing the path towards publication, on campus and beyond.

Two Journalism courses offer students the opportunity to publish on official UCSB campus web and social media sites: Writing for Digital Journalism (107DJ) and the Web and Social Media Internship (W124), with student work published on the websites of the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts and the Division of Social Sciences.

Students are encouraged in many classes to submit work to student-run print, broadcast, magazine, and web outlets at UCSB.

Journalism at UCSB is committed to creating a useful and comprehensive list of resources for students who are interested in pursuing the path to publication for their work.

Simply engaging in the real-world process of pitching, submitting, and editing work is a learning experience in itself.

And although there’s never a guarantee until the “ink” hits the “page,” there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing your work live.
